Trivandrum known as thiruvananthapuram is the capital of kerala and located in the south end of kerala. It is known as the evergreen city of kerala. The king marthanda varma is the father of modern travancore. Anciently trivandrum known as travancore or venad.  In 1949 travancore and cochin states merged and made travancore as the capital. The name Thiruvananthapuram meaning is The city of Lord Ananta.Trivandrum is known in literature and popularly known as Ananthapuri, syanandurapuram

In 1962 the Thumba equatorial rocket launching station TERLS established in trivandrum and so it became the cradle of india's space programme. The first indian space rocket wasdevelpoed and launched from Vikram sarabhai space station VSSC and isro centers established in trivandrum.

India's first IT park was established in trivandrum and is known as Technopark. Trivandrumis the home for Kerala legislative assembly and the state secretariat.

Trivandrum is the major tourist hub in india. Kovalam, varkala, shankumugham,veli and azhimala are the important beaches in trivandrum. The padmanabha swamy temple is the richest temple in the world and is located here. Agastyamala forests, Neyyar wild llife sanctuary, Ponmudi hills,Veli lake are the major attractions of trivandrum.

The Padmanabhawamy temple is a hindu temple dedicated to lord Vishnu and located in trivandrum.
It is considered as the richest temple in the world.The governing body of this temple is Travancore royal family.The architecture of this temple is a fusion of kerala and tamil architecture

2. Napier museum and Zoo




The trivandrum zoo is one of the oldest zoo in india and first zoo in kerala. The indigenous species at zoo include Asiatic lion, Royal bengal tiger, elephants, hippos, zebras etc.The museum and botanical garden also establised near to the zoo by Uthram Thirunnal Marthanda varma. The napier museum is an art and natural history museum.it is an archaeological museum contains rare collections of ancient ornaments and historic articrafts

3.Neyyar wildlife sanctuary




It is the southernmost wildlife sanctuary of kerala and is spread over wester ghats. It is a part of Agasthyamala biospere reserve and isestablished in 1958. The neyyar river and its tributaries flowing through it. Acrocodile rehabilitation and research centre was established in neyyar wildlife sanctuary.

4. kovalam beach




It is a beach located in trivandrum and famous for domestic foreign travellers. The coconut trees are common there.hence it is called coconut grove or kovalam. The ayurvedic treatments for tourists are providing in the resorts around kovalam
